I cover the steps on how to replace a dishwasher and plumbing.
Before purchasing a new dishwasher, make sure the opening size will work. If you put down new flooring, the floor height may be a problem getting the new dishwasher in place.
Before you start to remove the old dishwasher, turn off the electric to the circuit and turn off the water supply. Have a bucket handy when you remove the old water supply and drain hose.
Get a piece of cardboard under the old dishwasher when you pull it out to keep from scratching your flooring. Keep the cardboard for after installing the new dishwasher to check for leaks. I would have a piece of the cardboard cut and placed under the drain hose and supply valve. Then place a piece under the dishwasher for its first use. It is an easy way to see if there are any leaks. Keep the base panel off the bottom of the dishwasher to check for leaks.
